Differential Gear Oil: Replacement

CAUTION: Vehicle components are extremely hot immediately after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  1. Remove the filler plug (differential gear oil).

  2. Drain the differential gear oil by removing drain plug using TORX® bit T70.

  3. Remove the iron powder, etc. from the drain plug.
  4. Attach the drain plug using a new gasket, using TORX® bit T70.

    Tightening torque: 

    70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51.6 ft-lb)

  5. Fill the differential gear oil from the filler plug hole.

    Differential gear oil: 

    Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS .

    Differential gear oil capacity: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION .

  6. Check the differential gear oil level. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL>INSPECTION .
  7. Using a new gasket, install the filler plug (differential gear oil).

    Tightening torque: 

    50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
