Reverse Brake: Disassembly

  1. Remove the snap ring, and then remove the retaining plate, drive plate, driven plate and dish plate.

    (A) Snap ring
    (B) Retaining plate
    (C) Drive plate
    (D) Driven plate
    (E) Dish plate
    (F) Reverse brake housing
  2. Using the ST and a press, compress the spring retainer to remove the snap ring.

    Preparation tool: 

    ST: COMPRESSOR SPECIAL TOOL (18762AA001)

  3. Remove the spring retainer.

    (A) Spring retainer
    (B) Reverse brake housing
  4. Blow compressed air through the hole shown in the figure, and remove the reverse brake piston.

  5. Remove the D-rings.
