Select Lever: Installation
- Install the select cable. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT CABLE>INSTALLATION .
- Install the select lever.
Tightening torque:
18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)
- Connect the connector.
- Install the harness.
- Install the duct console center. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>AIR VENT DUCT>INSTALLATION>CONSOLE DUCT>CENTER .
- Install the clamp.NOTE: Insert it from the front side.
- Install the grip.NOTE: Install it while pressing on the clamp.
- Install the boot. (Model with boot shifter)
- Install the grip cover. (Model with gate shifter)
- Connect the select cable to the transmission main body.
NOTE: Set the washer before installing the snap pin.
Tightening torque:
25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)
- Adjust the select cable free play. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT CABLE>ADJUSTMENT .
- Install the center exhaust cover. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
- Release the shift lock using a screwdriver, etc. and shift the select lever to the "P range".
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Inspect the following items. If a malfunction is found in the inspection, adjust the select cable or inhibitor switch.
- The shift lock operates normally. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SHIFT LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM>INSPECTION .
- Starter motor starts when the select lever is in "P range" or "N range", but not in other ranges.
- Back-up light illuminates when the select lever is in the "R range", but not in other ranges.
- Check the parking lock operation when the select lever is in "P range".
- Select lever and indicator positions are matched.
