Select Cable: Removal

NOTE: Components: Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>SELECT CABLE .
  1. Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N range". Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the center exhaust cover. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE .
    NOTE: Remove the center exhaust cover only.
  3. Disconnect the select cable from the transmission main body.
    CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

  4. Remove the cable plate.
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.

  5. Remove the adjusting nut (rear).

  6. Remove the select cable.
    CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

    1. Raise the claw of the clamp.
    2. Remove the select cable together with the clamp.

  7. Remove the clamp from the select cable.
  8. Remove the connector pin.
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.
