Data Communication Module
CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION
.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE: Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N" position. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the cover LWR driver. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the visor assembly. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the driver monitoring unit assembly. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>DRIVER MONITORING UNIT>REMOVAL
.NOTE: For the model without driver monitoring system, remove the cover center UPR in the same procedure as for the driver monitoring unit assembly.
- Remove the grip and boot. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the cover assembly front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CONSOLE BOX>REMOVAL .
- Remove the ornament panel mid passenger and the center information display assembly. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY>REMOVAL>DISPLAY ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the data communication module.
- Disconnect the data communication module cord.
- Remove the screws and remove the data communication module.CAUTION: Do not drop or apply any impact to the data communication module.NOTE: Remove the screws on LH side in the same procedure as on the RH side.
- Remove the backup battery. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>DATA COMMUNICATION MODULE>REMOVAL>BACKUP BATTERY .
NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required. - Disconnect the data communication module cord.
