Front Oxygen (A/F) Sensor: Removal
CAUTION:
- Vehicle components are extremely hot after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
- When removing the front oxygen (A/F) sensor, wait until exhaust pipe cools, otherwise it will damage the exhaust pipe.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the under cover front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the front oxygen (A/F) sensor.
- Apply spray-type lubricant to the threaded portion of front oxygen (A/F) sensor, and leave it for one minute or more.CAUTION: In order to prevent smoking and fire, when applying spray-type lubricant, do so only after the exhaust pipe has cooled.
- Disconnect the connector (A) and remove the front oxygen (A/F) sensor.
- Apply spray-type lubricant to the threaded portion of front oxygen (A/F) sensor, and leave it for one minute or more.
