Pulse Air Control

The pulse air control system supplies secondary air to exhaust manifold during deceleration or when engine coolant temperature is low. When the Three-Way Solenoid Valve (TWSV) receives an electrical signal from the ECM, the TWSV inner valve opens to transmit vacuum from the intake manifold to the second air valve.

The second air valve opens when exhaust pressure is low, then lets intake air flow into the exhaust manifold. When exhaust pressure is high, the second air valve closes.
