Switch Vent Solenoid

  1. Disconnect canister hose from switch vent solenoid. Connect new hose to solenoid. Turn ignition on and off without turning on engine and blow air into new hose. Air should pass through solenoid in both cases.
  2. Turn engine on and allow to idle. Air should not pass through solenoid. If air passes with engine on, check for loose or dirty connectors. If ECM system is suspected, refer to DIAGNOSIS & TESTING  in this article.
