Coolant Temperature (Thermal) Switch

NOTE: Thermal switch may be checked installed or removed. Procedure given is with switch installed. Specifications for both are the same.

Disconnect thermal switch connector and attach ohmmeter between terminals. With coolant temperature BELOW 86°F (30°C), continuity should be present. With coolant temperature ABOVE 116°F (46.5°C), continuity should not be present. If not within specifications, replace switch.
