Mixture Control Solenoid Valve (MCSV) Check

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect connectors from ECM, TWSV's and VSV. See Figure . Disconnect mixture control solenoid valve connector at Green connector, located next to air duct. Attach a jumper wire to Yellow/Black wire and Black/White wire. Attach a second jumper wire to White wire and Blue/Red wire. See Fig 1 .
    CAUTION: Use special care attaching jumper wires as wrong connections will cause damage to other components.

  2. Remove cap from duty check connector, located on firewall and attach a jumper wire to terminals. See Fig 2 . Turn ignition on and off repeatedly (without starting engine). An operating sound should be heard from MCSV at carburetor. Check circuit and/or replace MCSV as necessary.
