Idle Microswitch

  1. Remove carburetor. Rotate fast idle cam counterclockwise and insert a pin through hole in cam and bracket, to lock cam in place. Connect ohmmeter to terminals of idle microswitch Green connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. With throttle valve in idle position, ohmmeter should indicate zero ohm. With throttle valve opened 1/4 to 1/2, ohmmeter reading should be infinity. If not within the specifications, replace the idle microswitch.

  3. Open throttle valve slowly until throttle valve-to carburetor bore clearance is .014-.024" (.36-.62 mm). See Fig 2 . Ohmmeter reading should move from zero ohm to infinity. If not, adjust by bending lever. See Fig 2 . Bend lever down if clearance is less than specifications. Bend lever up if greater than specifications.
