Ignition Timing: Notes

IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS (Degrees BTDC @ RPM)

Application	Man. Trans.	Auto. Trans.
Samurai	10 @ 800	10 @ 800

Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure idle speed is correct. Turn all accessories off. Attach timing light to No. 1 spark plug wire. Remove plug from inspection window on transmission case.
Aim timing light at inspection window. If timing is not within specification, loosen distributor hold-down bolt and turn distributor until specified ignition timing is obtained. Retighten distributor hold-down bolt and install inspection window plug.
