Pick-Up Coil

Disconnect pick-up coil connector at distributor. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between 2 upper terminals. See Fig 1 . Replace pick-up coil if resistance is not as specified in PICK-UP COIL RESISTANCE table.
Ensure ignition coil and pick-up coil have battery voltage. If ignition coil resistance and pick-up coil test okay, check for spark. If spark is still not available, go to the TESTS W/CODES article in this section.
