ISC Solenoid

  1. Disconnect solenoid wire harness connector and measure resistance between terminals. Resistance should be 30-33 ohms.
  2. If ISC solenoid resistance is within specification, remove vacuum hoses and apply low pressure air through lower port. Air should NOT pass through. Apply 12 volts to ISC solenoid and apply low pressure air through lower port. Air should pass through. If different results are obtained, replace ISC solenoid.
  3. If ISC valve still does not function but performance was acceptable in step 2), check Red/White wire to ECM for poor connections, open circuit or short to ground. If circuit is okay, substitute a known good ECM and recheck.
