Throttle Opener System Check
Using a vacuum "T", connect a vacuum gauge in the vacuum line between the throttle opener control solenoid and the throttle opener diaphragm. Start engine. On a cold engine, vacuum should not be present at gauge for up to 10 seconds, depending upon coolant temperature. At this time a fast idle should exist. After a maximum of 10 seconds, vacuum should be indicated on gauge and idle speed should drop. If not, test individual components.
