Timing Control Systems

Timing is regulated by control unit based upon sensor input signals. If timing does not seem to operate properly, enter self-diagnostics and check for codes. See TESTS W/CODES article in this section. If no codes are present, check individual components which affect timing. These include the airflow meter, throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor, and the battery voltage input.
