Idle Speed Control (ISC) Solenoid (Samurai, Swift)
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect electrical connector from ISC solenoid. The ISC solenoid is located on right side of engine, near valve cover.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between ISC solenoid terminals. Resistance should be 30-33 ohms. Replace ISC solenoid if defective.
- Warm engine to normal operating temperature. With running and electrical connector removed from ISC solenoid, disconnect ISC solenoid hose from lower port on ISC solenoid.
- No air should be drawn into the hose. Connect battery voltage to ISC solenoid terminals. Air should now be drawn into the hose. Replace ISC solenoid if defective. Reinstall hose.
