Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): Notes

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) RESISTANCE

Application Ohms
Between Terminals "C" & "D"
At Idle (1) 0-550
At Wide Open Throttle (2) Infinity
Between Terminals "A" & "D" 3,500-6,500
Between terminals "B" & "D"
At Idle (1) 0-2,000
At Wide Open Throttle (2) 2,000-6,500
(1) To obtain idle position, use hand vacuum pump to apply 19 in. Hg of vacuum to throttle opener.
(2) There should be more than 2000 ohms difference between idle and wide open throttle readings.
