Air Valve (Samurai, Sidekick)
CAUTION:
DO NOT
allow water to contact any other portion of throttle body when immersing air valve in water.
- For exploded view of throttle body showing air valve, see THROTTLE BODY in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. To check air valve, turn engine off. Remove air valve cap.
- When coolant temperature is less than 140°F (60°C), air valve should be open. When coolant temperature is greater than 158°F (70°C), air valve should be closed. Install new air valve cap gasket when installing air valve cap.
