Idle Speed Control (ISC) Solenoid (Sidekick)
- The ISC solenoid is mounted on throttle body. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 6-pin connector at throttle body.
- Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between Blue and Light Green/Black wire terminals of connector. If necessary, unlock and remove wire terminals from connector for easier access. Resistance should be 5.4-6.6 ohms at 68°F (20°C). Replace ISC solenoid if resistance is not within specification.CAUTION: DO NOT apply battery voltage to ISC solenoid for more than one second. Wait 10 seconds before reconnecting battery voltage to ISC solenoid.
- To check ISC solenoid operation, remove ISC solenoid from throttle body. While observing valve through hole in flange, apply battery voltage to Blue wire terminal and ground Light Green/Black wire terminal. Note if valve operates. Replace ISC solenoid if defective.
