Swift DOHC
- Disconnect pick-up coil connector at distributor. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between 2 upper terminals. See Fig 1

table. Replace pick-up coil if resistance is not within specification. If resistance is within specification, go to next step.
- Ensure pick-up coil has battery voltage. Disconnect pick-up coil connector at distributor. With ignition on and using voltmeter, ensure there is battery voltage at Brown/White wire terminal of connector. If voltage is not present, check wiring and connections to ECM and check ECM power supply. Repair as required. Ensure ignition coil has power, see IGNITION COIL POWER UNIT
under IGNITION CHECKS in this article.
- If ignition coil and pick-up coil test okay, recheck for spark. If spark is still not available, go to the TESTS W/CODES
article in this section.
