Ignition Timing

IGNITION TIMING (Degrees BTDC @ RPM)

Application Manual Transmission Automatic Transmission
DOHC (1) 5-7 @ 800-900 (1) 5-7 @ 800-900
SOHC (2) 5-7 @ 600-700 (2) 5-7 @ 700-800
(1) With jumper wire installed between Black wire and Violet/Green wire of test connector, located near ignition coil.
(2) With vacuum hose disconnected from distributor. With hose connected, timing should be 11-13 degrees BTDC.
