- For exploded view of throttle body showing fast idle air valve, see appropriate THROTTLE BODY under FUEL SYSTEM in N - REMOVE/INSTALL/OHAUL article. To check fast idle air valve, turn engine off. Remove valve cap.
- When coolant temperature is less than 140°F (60°C), valve should be open. When coolant temperature is greater than 158°F (70°C), valve should be closed. Install NEW valve cap gasket when installing valve cap.
