Diagnostic Trouble Code Definitions

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS

12 System Normal
13  Oxygen Sensor Circuit
14  ECT Sensor, Low Temperature Indicated
15  ECT Sensor, High Temperature Indicated
21  TPS Circuit, Signal Voltage High
22  TPS Circuit, Signal Voltage Low
24  Vehicle Speed Sensor
33  MAF Sensor Circuit, Signal Voltage High
34  MAF Sensor Circuit, Signal Voltage Low
41 (1) No Ignition Signal
42 (2) Crank Angle Sensor
44 (2) Idle Switch Circuit Open Or Misadjusted
45  Idle Switch Circuit Shorted Or Misadjusted
51 (3) EGR System Circuit Check
52 (3) Fuel System Check
53 (3) ECM Ground Circuit
(1) Code 41 is not stored in ECM memory. To check code when engine fails to start, crank engine, and then, with ignition still on, install fuse in diagnostic terminal of fuse block.
(2) When code occurs, ECM will not activate CHECK ENGINE light while engine is running. When problem is fixed, memory of defective area will automatically be erased from ECM.
(3) Applicable to California models only.
