Fuel Injector Circuit Test
- Crank engine and using a stethoscope, check operating sound of each fuel injector. If operating sound can be heard from all 4 fuel injectors, fuel injector circuit is okay. If no operating sound at all is heard from any fuel injector, go to next step. If 2 or more fuel injector(s) makes no operating sound, go to step 3). If no operating sound is heard from one fuel injector, go to step 5).
- If no operating sound is heard at all from any fuel injector, turn ignition off. Check power circuit for open or short. If open or short is found, repair appropriate circuit. If no open or short is found, check fuel injectors. See FUEL INJECTOR(S) above.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect ECM connectors. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals A2 and A12 or between terminals A15 and A12. See the PIN VOLTAGE CHART S article for terminal identification.
- If resistance is not 6-8 ohms, check for open in Black/Red or Black/Yellow wire. If resistance is 6-8 ohms, repair bad A2 or A15 connection. If A2 or A15 connection is okay, replace ECM and recheck.
- If no operating sound is heard from one fuel injector, check connector connection. If connector connection is okay, see FUEL INJECTOR(S) heading above.
