Throttle Body: Removal

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE  RELEASE. Disconnect negative battery cable. Carefully relieve cooling system pressure. Drain engine coolant so level is below throttle body. Remove air intake case from throttle body and air cleaner.
  2. Disconnect accelerator cable and A/T kickdown cable (if equipped) from throttle body. Disconnect electrical connectors at throttle body.
  3. Label all vacuum hoses and disconnect hoses from throttle body. Disconnect coolant hose from air valve on throttle body. Remove fuel feed line from throttle body. Remove fuel return line from fuel pressure regulator. Remove throttle body mounting bolts and lift throttle body from intake manifold.
NOTE: DO NOT  soak injector or any electrical device in any type of solvent or cleaner.
