DTC 16 - Abs Enable Relay Coil Circuit Open: Notes

DTC 16 can only set after DTC 14 has been set. DTC 16 detects an open in the coil circuit of ABS relay. When DTC 14 and 16 are stored, ABS system is disabled and ABS warning light is illuminated or will flash. If the rear piston is not in the home position when fault occurs, Red BRAKE warning light will also be illuminated.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Indicates if the EBCM is capable of controlling the ABS enable relay as commanded.
- Determines that there is continuity through the pull-in coil of the relay.
- Checks that voltage is available to the pull-in coil of the relay.
- Checks continuity of Black/Blue wire between relay and EBCM.
- Ensures DTC was not set due to a poor connection.
