Service Precautions
WARNING:
To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all service precautions. Deactivate air bag system before performing any repairs. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM

- Wait at least 20 seconds after removing AIR BAG fuse before removing or servicing any air bag related component.
- Never use air bag system components from another vehicle.
- DO NOT expose air bag system components to temperatures greater than 200°F (93°C) such as in paint baking booth.
- Never attempt to disassemble any air bag component.
- DO NOT dispose of undeployed air bag inflator module. Deploy inflator module before disposing. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
- When handling inflator module, hold with deployment cover facing away from your body.
- Discard inflator module if it has been dropped 3 feet or more.
