IGNITOR (Power Unit)

  1. Disconnect distributor harness connector. Connect two 1.5 volt batteries together in series (3 volts). Using an ohmmeter, connect positive lead to terminal No. 4 of distributor and negative lead to terminal No. 6. See Fig 1 .
  2. Check continuity between terminals No. 4 and 6 as positive side of batteries is connected to terminal No. 5 of distributor and negative side is connected to terminal No 4. See Fig 1 . Continuity should only exist with voltage applied to terminal No. 5. Replace distributor if continuity is not as specified.
