THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR RESISTANCE (1)

Esteem & Swift
Between Terminals 1 & 2 2500-6000
Between Terminals 1 & 3 100-20,000
Sidekick 1.6L & X-90
Between Terminals A & B
With .020" (.50 mm) Clearance At Stop Screw 0-500
With .031" (.80 mm) Clearance At Stop Screw Infinity
Between Terminals A & D 3500-6500
Between Terminals A & C
At Idle 300-2000
At Wide Open Throttle (2) 2000-6500
(1) See Figure-10 for terminal identification.
(2) There should be more than 2000 ohms difference between idle and wide open throttle resistance.
NOTE: See PIN VOLTAGE CHART S article and appropriate wiring diagrams in WIRING DIAGRAMS article for PCM connector and wire terminal identification.

At Idle .35-.65
At Wide Open Throttle 3.5-4.5
(1) Ignition on and engine off.
(2) On models with manual transmission, backprobe between ground and PCM connector "B", terminal No. 17 (Green wire). On models with automatic transmission, backprobe between ground and PCM connector "D", terminal No. 25 (Green wire).
