Esteem & Swift

  1. Remove secondary coil wires. Disconnect harness connector from ignition coil. Using DVOM, measure secondary coil resistance between secondary coil towers. See Figure . Replace coil if resistance is not as specified. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table.
  2. Using DVOM, check for continuity in igniter circuit by connecting positive lead to terminal No. 3, and negative lead to terminal No. 1 of ignition coil. See Figure . Continuity should not be present. Using a 1.5 volt battery, connect positive side to terminal No. 2, and negative side to terminal No. 3. DVOM should indicate continuity. Replace coil if continuity is not as specified.
