Fuel Pressure Regulator

NOTE: For additional fuel pressure regulator testing and specifications, see CIRCUIT TEST B-3: FUEL PRESSURE INSPECTION under CIRCUIT TESTS in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES article.
  1. Fuel pressure regulator is mounted on end of fuel rail. Start engine and let idle. Disconnect vacuum hose from regulator. If vacuum is present, go to next step. If no vacuum is present, check for blocked hose between regulator and intake manifold.
  2. Check fuel pressure with engine running and vacuum hose connected to regulator. Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator. If fuel pressure does not increase, replace fuel pressure regulator.
