Description & Operation

Power window system consists of power window motors, power window switches, necessary fuses and related system wiring for each power window assembly. All models use a master power window switch located on driver's door trim panel, with individual power window switches mounted for each passenger door. Vitara models are also available with 2-door power windows, all other models come with 4-door power windows.

Battery voltage is applied to all window switches when ignition switch is in ON position. The master power window switch has a lock-out function to prevent unwanted operation of all power window switches (except driver's side master power window switch) by providing ground for all switches and motors. The master power window switch also contains a solid-state auto-down circuit for the driver's window.
