DTC P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit Performance Problem: Condition

DTC is set when throttle is closed, Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor value when engine is cranked, is less then when engine is started. DTC is also set when throttle is closed, engine is at normal operating temperature, engine is at 2000 RPM or more and is decelerating, and barometric pressure is less than MAP sensor value. This is a continuous monitor. MIL is illuminated when Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects malfunction during 2 consecutive drive cycles. Possible causes are:

• Plugged MAP sensor vacuum hose.
• Frozen MAP sensor filter.
• Intake system vacuum leaks.
• MAP sensor malfunction.
• PCM malfunction.
