Monitor Strategy Description

Transition BLS/BTS diagnoses:

In principle both brake light switch and Brake test switch must be active at each braking. However there are vehicle versions in which the switching points of the two switches are not identical over the pedal distance. In these versions, BLS switches first, then BTS, i.e. the state is plausible if even improbable for a lengthy duration. A defective BTS is therefore detected by means of the following function. There are two possibilities to make this diagnosis. One is to check the fixed state of the BLS/BTS or to estimate the transitions of BLS/BTS.

BLS and BTS stationary diagnosis:

BTS switch before BLS over live time. For this part of diagnosis, it is a must be. You should never start this part of diagnosis if BLS/BTS can't fulfill this requirement.

Diagnosis of BLS and BTS with deceleration:

If a deceleration occurs which is bigger than a threshold the only possibility is that BLS/BTS are pressed.
