IMRC Valve Motor Check

CAUTION: The IMRC valve actuator may be damaged if battery voltage is applied to it for longer than 10 seconds. Limit the time of battery voltage application to the IMRC valve actuator to no more than 10 seconds.
  1. Remove IMRC valve. See INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals "4" and "5" of IMRC valve actuator connector.

    If faulty condition is found, replace IMRC valve (2).

    IMRC valve motor resistance 

    8 - 10 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) 

  3. Connect battery (1) to terminals "4" and "5" of IMRC valve actuator connector as shown in figure. Check if IMRC valve is at fully open position.

  4. Connect battery (1) to terminals "4" and "5" of IMRC valve actuator connector as shown in figure. Check if IMRC valve is at fully closed position.

    If faulty condition is found, replace IMRC valve (2).
