Throttle Body Assembly On-Vehicle Inspection: Notes

WARNING: If you touch the throttle valve with your finger when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position and the accelerator pedal is depressed, your finger may be pinched in the gap between the throttle valve and throttle body housing if the accelerator pedal is released. Never touch the throttle valve with your finger when the ignition switch is ON and the accelerator pedal is depressed.
CAUTION: Failure to take proper precautions when handling the electric throttle body assembly, may lead to malfunction of the electric throttle body assembly or damage to its components.
  • Do not disassemble throttle body assembly.
  • Do not drop or otherwise give excessive shock to throttle body assembly. Throttle body assembly that has experienced any excessive shock must be replaced.
  • Be careful not to accurate foreign materials (like dust and metallic particle) to throttle body and throttle valve.

    Otherwise, throttle body assembly will break down by throttle valve accretion.

  • Do not apply excessive force to throttle valve for throttle valve operation check and TP sensor performance check.

    Otherwise, throttle body assembly will break down by damaging internal resinous gear of throttle valve actuator.
