CMP (Camshaft Position) Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. Disconnect connector of CMP sensor.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position and check that voltage of CMP sensor connector (vehicle side) between terminals "1" and "2" is battery voltage.

    If faulty condition is found, check power supply circuit, ground circuit and connections.

  3. Check that CMP sensor signal is output properly. Refer to INSPECTION OF ECM AND ITS CIRCUITS

    If faulty condition is found, check the following.
