Intel Program

  1. Check that the vehicle firmware is at least 2023.20 or later. If it is not perform a firmware update. See FIRMWARE UPDATE .
  2. If no pull tab is present, remove the key fob cover and battery from the key fob assembly.
  3. Use a multimeter to confirm battery voltages on new fob keys are sufficient for procedure.
    NOTE: Battery voltages of new keys should be 2.9V or greater.
    NOTE: Do not re-insert the battery until after starting the toolbox routine at a later step.
  4. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect And Disconnect) .
    NOTE: Configuration changes from within Toolbox can only be performed by a Tesla employee at this time. Third parties must request the configuration change through their agreed Tesla technical support channel.
  5. In Toolbox 3, select the Actions  tab, type "pairing" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_AUTOPAIRING, click Run  , and follow the prompts in Toolbox to program the key(s).
    NOTE: Note If Bluetooth connectivity is poor, triple clicking the frunk button forces the key fob to broadcast.
  6. Inspect key fob function with at least two functional keys present and paired. Check the lock/unlock and trunk/frunk release functions.
  7. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service Mode > Exit Service Mode  .
  8. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect And Disconnect) .
