NOTE:
This procedure describes how to reinstall the currently installed firmware using a laptop with Toolbox 3 locally connected. The package will not be downloaded from Tesla servers.
- Partial: Reinstalls the currently installed firmware package to replaced components having CAN ECUs.
- Full: Reinstalls the currently installed firmware package to the car computer and replaced components having CAN ECUs.
NOTE:
Depending on the service procedure, the LV system may need to be supported with a battery maintainer:
- If the service procedure does not disconnect LV, and the HV Battery contactors are closed at the time of firmware reinstallation, perform the reinstall as described in Firmware Reinstall - Contactors Closed .
- Similarly: If the service procedure disconnects LV, and the HV Battery contactors are open at the time of firmware reinstallation, perform the reinstall as described in Firmware Reinstall - Contactors Open .
