Tire Rotation: Procedure

  1. Remove all 4 wheels. See WHEEL (REMOVE AND INSTALL) .
  2. Check if the tires are directional.
    NOTE: Directional tires are identified with an arrow indicating the direction of rotation on the sidewall.

  3. Reinstall the wheels according to the type of tires.
    NOTE: Model X front and rear tires are different in size. Rotation is only possible between the LH and RH sides, as long as the tires are not directional.

    Move LH to RH. Do not move front to rear. Do not rotate directional tires in this manner.

  4. Install all 4 wheels. See WHEEL (REMOVE AND INSTALL) .
  5. Reset the tire estimates using one of the following methods.
    • On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Chassis > Alignment & Tires > Reset Learned Tire Values  and then follow the on-screen instructions.
    • Use Toolbox 3:
      • Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
      • In Toolbox, click the Actions  tab, and then search for "Reset Tire Estimates".
      • Click PROC_DIR_CLEAR-LEARNT-TIRE-OFFSET, and then click Run  and allow the routine to complete.
      • Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
