Electronic Bleed Control Valve

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Disconnect electronic bleed control valve (EBCV). Increase and hold engine speed to 2500 RPM. Reconnect EBCV and note that engine speed should drop 300 RPM.
  2. Allow engine to run at idle speed. Repeat test and note that engine speed should remain the same. Disconnect the thermo vacuum switching valve. Repeat steps 1) and 2). Ensure that the engine speed does not drop.
  3. If EBCV does not work as described, check EBCV for shorts or grounds. Resistance of EBCV should be 11-13 ohms. If necessary, replace EBCV.
