Electric Air Control Valve (EACV)

  1. Disconnect air hose from check valve, and air by-pass hose from air cleaner. Unplug wiring connector. With engine idling, check that compressed air comes out of air by-pass hose. Reconnect wiring connector.
  2. Disconnect connector from thermo switch (1) and ground it. Check that compressed air comes out of air hose to check valve at idle. Reconnect thermo switch connector.
  3. Disconnect connector from thermo switch (2), and ground it. Check that compressed air comes out of the air by-pass hose. Reconnect the connector.
  4. Disconnect connector from thermo switch (1), and ground it. Connect air pump tester to air hose at check valve. Close orifice on tester with your finger. Increase engine speed gradually. Relief valve opening pressure should be 4.3-5.7 psi (0.30-0.40 kg/cm2 ). Reinstall air hoses and connectors.
