22R-E Engine

  1. Turn ignition on. Disconnect Brown and Yellow wire connector. Connect voltmeter negative lead to ground and positive lead to Brown wire terminal on harness side. Voltage reading should be 12 volts.
  2. Reconnect connector. Disconnect coil wire at distributor. Place coil wire about 1/4" from ground. Disconnect Pink and White wire connector. Using a 1.5-volt dry cell batter 7, connect positive pole to Pink wire terminal.
  3. Connect negative pole to coil ground. Check for spark from coil wire after 1 second delay. If no spark occurs, replace ignitor. DO NOT apply voltage for more than 5 seconds.
