Pickup & 4Runner

  1. Block front wheels and jack up one rear wheel off ground. Release parking brake and place shift lever in Neutral. On 4WD models, ensure transfer case shift lever is in "H2" range.
  2. Unplug connector from CCE computer (on left side cowl). Insert positive lead of ohmmeter on wiring connector terminal and connect negative lead to ground. Have an assistant turn rear wheel slowly by hand.
  3. Ensure ohmmeter needle deflects consistently. If ohmmeter needle does not deflect, ensure speed sensor terminals on back side of speedometer are properly connected. If connections are okay, replace speedometer assembly. Reconnect CCE computer.
