Electronic Controlled Transmission

Automatic transmission models are equipped with an electronic control unit to control transmission operation. The ECU of the TCCS provides signals on engine operation to the ECU of the Electronic Controlled Transmission (ECT) system. This information is used by the ECT computer to prevent shift up to 3rd gear or overdrive during cold engine operation.

NOTE: The ECU of the TCCS is not interchangeable with the ECU of the ECT system.
