Vacuum Switching Valves (VSV)

  1. Disconnect VSV vacuum hoses and electrical connector. Apply air to nozzle "E". Air should exit nozzle "P". Apply battery voltage to VSV terminals. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Apply air to nozzle "E". Air should exit nozzle "F". Replace VSV as necessary.
  2. On Pickup models, disconnect battery from VSV. Check for continuity between positive terminal and VSV body with an ohmmeter. If there is continuity, replace VSV. Attach ohmmeter between negative and positive terminal. Ohmmeter reading should be 30-50 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If not within specifications, replace VSV.
