Retrieving Codes
- Ensure battery voltage is greater than 11 volts and throttle valve is fully closed. Place transaxle in Neutral and turn off all accessory switches. Turn ignition switch on but do not start engine. Place a jumper wire between terminals "E1" and "T". See Figure.
- Count number of flashes from "CHECK ENGINE" light. If system is operating properly (with no codes), "CHECK ENGINE" light will blink continuously and evenly. A code will be identified by a .5 second flash on and off for the first number. A 1.5 second pause will occur followed by the second number. See Fig 1.
- If more than one code is stored, a 2.5 second pause will occur prior to the flashing of the second code. Once all codes have been displayed, a 4.5 second pause will occur and code(s) will repeat. Codes are given from smallest value in order to largest value. After code(s) are retrieved, remove jumper wire.
- If codes are present, use chart for code identification and proceed to appropriate test number under NO VOLTAGE TESTING . See Fig 1. If no codes are present and a problem exists, perform ECU terminal voltage test and proceed to appropriate test number under NO VOLTAGE TESTING. See Figure.
