Vacuum Switch Check

  1. Disconnect electrical connector on vacuum switch No. 2. Attach an ohmmeter between switch terminal and switch body. Engine coolant must be cold. There should be no continuity.
  2. Warm vehicle to normal operating temperature. Connect ohmmeter between switch terminal and switch body, continuity should now be present. Replace switch as necessary.
  3. For vacuum switch No. 1, connect an ohmmeter between switch terminal and switch body. With engine not running, there should be continuity. Start engine with ohmmeter still connected. Continuity should now be present. Replace switch as necessary.
