Mixture Control System: Operation

During sudden deceleration, high manifold vacuum activates chamber B of MC valve. The valve opens and fresh air is drawn through MC valve filter into intake manifold. After a few seconds, vacuum in both chambers will equalize through orifice. MC valve closes and stops additional air entering intake manifold. See Figure.
